# Node.js setup guide

Set up Node.js with Prilog using documented prerequisites, installation, configuration, verification, and review steps.

## Agent-assisted setup

Use curl to download, read and follow https://prilog.ai/docs/setup/nodejs.md to connect this repository to Prilog. Keep API keys in environment variables and ask before publishing a PR.

## Prerequisites

A Prilog account, a connected repository, and a Node.js application. The documented TypeScript preload example requires Node.js 22.18 or later.

## Install

Install `@prilog/monitoring` using the [Node.js SDK guide](/docs/nodejs/#install).

## Configure

Provision a monitoring connection, keep its DSN in `PRILOG_DSN`, and initialize before application imports. Follow the [initialization example](/docs/nodejs/#initialize-before-application-imports).

## Verify

Inspect incoming telemetry in Prilog for the configured service. If no data arrives, follow [monitoring troubleshooting](/docs/troubleshooting/#no-monitoring-data-arrives).

## Next Steps

Read the [full Node.js reference](/docs/nodejs/), then [generate and review a fix](/docs/quickstart/). Review the diff and CI before merging.
